Map your walks

When I exercise I love the numbers of it. The mileage, the time, my pace, it’s one way I use to motivate myself. To help with this, you can use a Google Maps mashup called Gmaps Pedometer. With it you can map out your walks, and it will tell you your mileage and even calories burned.

Start exercising!

Here’s a list of 10 Ideas to Get You Exercising. My favorite is #7:

7. Stop thinking: All or Nothing
“If I can’t do this workout properly - then there is no point in working out”. I used to think like this. Now I think that even a 5 minute walk is better than 5 minutes on the couch. Even 10 minutes of light weights is better than nothing. This is especially important when exercising after a period of sickness. You feel like you took one step forward but fell 3 steps backward. Go easy on yourself. Don’t give up. Something is better than nothing.

Dieting and teenages don’t mix

Diets an unhealthy fix for teen weight concerns - CNN.com:

Teens who go on diets to drop some pounds are more likely to skip breakfast and binge eat — which may at least partly explain why they put on more weight over time than their peers who don’t diet, a new study shows.

Basically, if you are a teenager, you need to eat healthy, don’t restrict your calories, and exercise!
