My Weight Loss Story

Posted 04/02/2007:
My story begins April 17, 2001. Being 5′ 6 1/2″, the 186 pounds my 32 year old body was becoming too much for me. It was a Tuesday, and I just decided that was the day I was going to get back into shape.

I had been a long distance runner in high school, but that was 50 pounds and 14 years prior. Using my car, I mapped out a 1.8 mile loop in town. The plan was to walk 5 minutes, run 5 minutes, alternating until I was done. This was to take place 6 times a week. BAD IDEA! By the second week, my knees were hurting so bad that I had to stop for a week. I was pushing my body way too hard. Once I slowed down to 5 days a week and stopped pushing myself so hard, I was able to slowly build up my stamina and my knees.

More to come….
